2021 Future Tech Award - Sea-fue Wang, Kuang-Yow Lian, Chen Ing-Yi
"Data-Driven Intelligent Energy-Saving Technology for Multiple-Chiller Systems" is the result of the fourth sub-project of the Ministry of Science and Technology project "Development and Application of Intelligent Control Energy-saving Technology for Panel Factory Process Control", where President Sea-fue Wang served as the host of the total drawing. A team composed of Professor Kuang-Yow Lian from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Professor Ing-Yi Chen from the Department of Information Engineering, and graduate students from the Ph.D. and master class was jointly developed and won the "Future Tech Award" in 2021.
The advantage of this technology is that when the weather or indoor temperature changes, the best control parameters are automatically calculated according to the current environment, especially considering many problems encountered in practical applications. For example, the temperature difference of the water pipeline caused by weather changes, the aging of the ice water host, the load of the ice water host cannot be directly controlled, etc.
The AU Optronics plant has previously performed two energy-saving optimizations on the ice water system, and the level of energy-saving efficiency is already high. Experiments show that this technology can increase the power saving efficiency of AU Optronics Longtan L5B factory by approximately 2.42%. AU Optronics has promoted and implemented this technology to its plants in the Huaya Science Park and Nanke Kaohsiung Park, demonstrating that this technology is sufficiently robust and adaptable.
