2023 Taipei Tech Signs an Expands Academic Cooperation with Czech Technical University
National Taipei University of Technology (Taipei Tech) President Sea-Fue Wang signed a contract with the representative of Czech Technical University (CTU) Vice President Radek Holý. Sea-Fue Wang said that the two parties concluded a research contract and jointly, it is expected to launch 5 cases of cooperation this year, invested in Semiconductors, Sustainable Energy, Smart City, Internet of Things(IoT), and Security Operations (SecOps) to match teachers in the professional fields of both sides. We look forward to exerting greater academic capabilities and deepening Taiwan-Czech academic exchanges.
Holý said that he visited Taiwan for the first time 11 years ago and found that it is a very beautiful country with many friendly people and established many friendships here. He also looks forward to more cooperation in the future. Today he signed a joint research agreement and The teacher-student exchange program will further expand bilateral cooperation.
The speaker of the Senate of the Czech Republic led the largest visiting delegation in history to Taiwan. A 14-member Czech academic delegation visited Taipei Tech today (27th), including high-level officials from the Czech Technical University, Charles University, Masaryk University, and Brno University of Technology. As well as representatives of Technology Agency of the Czech Republic and the advisor of Senate of the Czech Republic.
Sea-Fue Wang said that in 2020, the Czech academic delegation visited during the outbreak of COVID-19. During the period, the exchange students accumulated up to 150 person-times, accumulating the precious friendship of many years of exchanges.
Sea-Fue Wang also said that with the opportunity of face-to-face exchanges today, Taipei Tech looks forward to expanding cooperation with other universities in the delegation, such as alliances, joint research, and teacher-student exchanges. Taipei Tech will encourage teachers to go abroad for international academic exchange and jointly develop a transnational network of contacts and build an international reputation.
Ho-Chiao Chuang, Dean of the Research & Development Office of Taipei Tech, explained that Taipei Tech took the lead in developing international PBL (Problem-Based Learning) work camps nationwide. Field and cross-enterprise competitions train students to discover and solve practical problems and cultivate critical abilities in cross-domain communication, active learning, and critical thinking. Over the past 10 years, more than 200 students have participated in the camp. We look forward to inviting more international friend schools to join the Taipei Tech International PBL Work Camp.
Czech Technical University is one of the technical universities with the most extended history and the largest number of students in Europe. It is also the best university of science and technology in the Czech Republic. Václav Havel, the first democratically elected president of the Czech Republic and Markéta Pekarová Adamová, the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic, are alumni of the school.
